House Policy for the Responsible Service of Alcohol

Cool Cocktails, in the best interests of our clients, our staff, and the community, promotes RESPONSIBLE SERVICE OF ALCOHOL.

Responsible serving of alcohol is vital for legal, health and community reasons. Our society is now less tolerant of the irresponsible use of alcohol that leads to drunkenness, drink driving and underage drinking. We are now far more aware of the serious problems that are associated with such behaviour.

Cool Cocktails has adopted the following House Policy which provides a frame work for the Responsible Service of Alcohol:

  • In order to prevent underage drinking, we will require proof of age to be provided when requested, and will ensure that our products are only received by adults.
  • We will not provide our product to persons who are intoxicated.
  • All customers who are considered to be intoxicated will be refused product.
  • We will educate our staff, our retailers, and our clients of our duty of care to ensure that they understand the implications and abide by our Responsible Service of Alcohol Policy.

Cool Cocktails will effect these strategies by:

  • Implementing, monitoring, and modifying the House Policy on an on-going basis.
  • Preventing underage drinking by insisting on “proof of age” by requesting a driver’s licence, passport, or “proof of age card” issued by the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority.
  • Preventing intoxication by recognising the signs of intoxication and refusing to serve anyone to the point of intoxication. We will deny service to anyone who is already intoxicated.
  • Promoting the service of non-alcoholic beverages.

It is the responsibility of all staff to promote the Responsible Service of Alcohol. Remember to always be pleasant and polite, but be firm in your decisions.
